Built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, Hadrian’s Wall is a wall (or it was) which stretches (or did) across the English countryside, from east to west (or, if you like, from west to east), somewhere up north. It was built to keep out the barbarian hordes. Or something. Pretty impressive.
